Figure 2: The necrotic and apoptotic effects of Kalanchoe blossfeldiana extract on human cervical carcinoma cells. The percentage of the necrotic and apoptotic cells was determined by flow cytometry. The cells were treated with dimethyl sulfoxide (0.5%, control) (a) and Kalanchoe blossfeldiana extract at concentrations of 2.0, 5.0 (b), 10.0, 20.0 (c), 50.0 and 100.0 μg/mL (d) for 24 h. The rate of apoptosis and necrosis was estimated in comparison to the control (e). The distribution of early and late apoptotic cells was determined for all the tested concentrations of the extract (f). Each sample was run in triplicate. Error bars represent standard deviations. Significant differences relative to the control are marked with an asterisk “*” (P < 0.05)
