But, in diabetic condition Rho-kinase 2 (ROCK-II) is activated by increased reactive oxygen species and the enzyme increases the contractility of CCSM. In addition, ROS inhibits eNOS ultimately decreasing CCSM relaxation. Ellagic acid increases sexual function in diabetic rat probably by inhibiting ROS and sildenafil increases sexual function by inhibiting PDE5 that metabolizes cGMP
